No. 54 Sport Clips Toyota Supra News and Notes:

·        DENNY HAMLIN AT DARLINGTON RACEWAY: Denny Hamlin will make his 13th-career NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Darlington Raceway this weekend. A track that has been one of Hamlin’s best tracks throughout his career, he has five Xfinity Series wins and three Cup Series wins at the track. In his previous 12 starts at the track, Hamlin has five wins, nine top-five finishes and 11 top-eight finsihes. All five of his pole starting positions resulted in race wins. In addition to his Xfinity success, Hamlin has three wins in the Cup Series, nine top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes. If Hamlin can finish in the top 10 on Saturday, he will score his 100th-career top-10 finish in the Xfinity Series. 

·        JGR AT DARLINGTON RACEWAY: Joe Gibbs Racing has 62 total starts Darlington Raceway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In those 62 starts, JGR has earned 10 wins at the track and 30 top-five finishes and 41 top-10 finishes. The team has led 1,159 laps, completed 8,589 of 9,070 attempted laps (94.7 %) and earned an average start of 12.6 and average finish of 10.7. Hamlin leads the team with five wins followed by Kyle Busch with two wins and Bobby Labonte, Tony Stewart and Joey Logano with one win each.  

·        THIS WEEK ON THE NO. 54 SUPRA: For his only Xfinity Series start of the season, Denny Hamlin will carry Sport Clips as the primary sponsor on the No. 54 Toyota Supra for this year’s throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway. While the No. 54 Supra will carry the traditional Sport Clips colors, the scheme will honor Cale Yarborough utilizing one of Yarborough’s Hardee’s paint schemes from 1984.

·        STARTING POSITION: Hamlin and the No. 54 Toyota team will start Saturday’s race from the 37th positon.

·        DOUBLE DUTY: In addition to running Saturday’s Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200, Hamlin will also compete in Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 in the No. 11 Toyota Camry. Hamlin will also honor Yarborough on Sunday with his throwback scheme on the No. 11 Toyota Camry. 

·        RACE INFO: The Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2020. Coverage will begin at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, Sirius XM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.
