Recognized Industry Executive Joins Nation’s Leading Provider of Men’s and Boys’ Hair Care
GEORGETOWN, Texas (Jul. 9, 2014)
Salon industry leader Mark Kartarik has been named president of Sport Clips Haircuts effective August 1 by founder and CEO Gordon Logan. Kartarik comes to the nation’s leading men’s and boys’ hair care franchise after a long, established career as a top executive with Minneapolis-based Regis Corporation. For more than 20 years, Kartarik saw Regis through its major global expansion, most recently serving as executive vice president. Kartarik also served as president of Regis’ Franchise Division for the Supercuts, Cost Cutters, ProCuts, First Choice Haircutter, Magicuts, City Looks and We Care Hair brands.
“Mark played a major role in Regis’ expansion the past twenty-plus years, and he will bring an extremely high level of franchising expertise to Sport Clips Haircuts as we continue our growth and expansion into new markets,” says Logan. “Mark’s knowledge of the franchised hair care business is unmatched in the industry, and he is known for his strong relationships with the franchisees he supports. My family and I have known and worked with Mark in our chain salon trade association (ISBN) for the past 14 years, which will make this a very smooth transition. Mark further solidifies Sport Clips’ strong leadership team with his industry experience and his track record of outstanding support of franchised businesses. We look forward to the addition of such a knowledgeable industry professional to the Sport Clips Executive Team, and we are excited to have him help guide our future growth.”
Kartarik says, “I feel fortunate to join such a strong brand that’s as highly respected as Sport Clips. I’m confident that with its primary focus on men and boys and its unique client experience, Sport Clips will see extensive growth in the years ahead. I’m bullish that it’s an amazing platform on which to build.”
Sport Clips recently announced that its same store sales continue to grow at a rate unmatched in its category, averaging approximately 9 percent per year for the past four years. Sport Clips has more than 1,200 stores open; 159 stores opened in the U.S. and Canada in 2013, and there have been only four closures since 2010. The company expects to open up to 200 stores in 2014. Sport Clips was recently ranked by FORBES as a “Top Ten Best Franchise” for its investment level. For more information about Sport Clips, visit SportClips.com.
