Nation’s Largest Provider of Men’s and Boys’ Hair Care Helps Launch 400 “Dream Flights” for Veterans in 50 U.S. Cities
DAYTON, Nevada (May 28, 2014)
Sport Clips Haircuts has signed on as the 2014 primary sponsor of Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation (AADF), a non-profit organization established and dedicated to honoring seniors and United States military veterans. AADF provides sponsor and donor-funded, once-in-a-lifetime “Dream Flights” to veterans, many of whom served during WWII. The flights are in a Boeing Stearman biplane, the same aircraft many military aviators trained in during the late thirties and early forties.
“The first time I saw the face of a veteran after his ‘Dream Flight,’ I understood the importance of this organization’s work and knew it would become a part of Sport Clips’ overall efforts to honor our nation’s military,” said Gordon Logan, founder and CEO of Sport Clips and a veteran of the U.S Air Force. “It’s much more than just a flight for these participants… It’s a memory of younger days and time spent serving and protecting our country. These veterans, and their memories, are valuable, and it’s an honor for Sport Clips to give back to them through Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation.”
AADF’s mission is to “Give Back To Those Who Have Given,” with a primary focus on individuals living in long-term care communities. Through the partnership with AADF, many Sport Clips team members from store locations near Dream Flight cities will have the opportunity to participate in the events.
In 2013, Sport Clips sponsored a five-city AADF “Texas Tour.” Sport Clips’ support will make it possible for the organization to launch 400 flights in 50 cities across the U.S., up from 274 flights in 2013.
Darryl Fisher, Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation founder states, “Sport Clips donation will allow us to put two more of our Boeing Stearmans in service giving 400 dreams flights to senior veterans in 2014.”
