Sport Clips Haircuts remained strong after experiencing pandemic-related temporary closures of all 1,800+ locations to rank #17 in the recent Entrepreneur “Franchise 500.” As the nation’s leading men’s and boys'-focused hair care provider, Sport Clips is showcased in the Top 20 of this highly-sought-after annual ranking. Entrepreneur recognizes franchises in its ranking for exceptional performance in areas including financial strength and stability, brand strength, size and growth, costs and fees, and support.
“Sport Clips jumped up 20 places in the ranking to #17 in 2021 from #37 in 2020," says Jim Atkinson, Sport Clips vice president of franchise development. "We are delighted to be recognized by Entrepreneur as this is a real testament to all the efforts our support team put forth to sustain the system through unprecedented times, save stores, and further collaborate with our franchisees and advisory council members.”
Edward Logan, Sport Clips president and CEO, adds, "The company Gordon started in 1993 and franchised in 1995 was built upon always maintaining the strong mutual of success-oriented franchisees and a high-quality central support team focused on unit-level success. We worked hand-in-hand, often virtually, to navigate the unchartered territory faced by businesses in 2020 and came through it stronger together. Stores and team members adapted with the environment in order to serve their valued clients in a safe, clean, and efficient setting while maintaining a Championship Haircut Experience. We recognized early in 2020, when the degree of disruption about to occur became clear, that those who handle the rapid change with the most complete approach will grow and accelerate faster than others, and be in a better competitive position moving into the future. This ranking reminds us that the thoughtful approach and hard work is paying off."
Additionally, Sport Clips ranked as the #60 franchise in this year's Franchise Direct "Top 100 Global Franchises." The ranking focuses on sales revenue, growth, years in franchising, and corporate citizenship among other criteria.
Sport Clips has more than 1,800 locations in the U.S. and Canada and was the first hair franchise or beauty salon business with a presence in all 50 U.S. states. Sport Clips is known for its support of the military through its “Help A Hero” scholarship program with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), this year donating more than $1 million toward service member and veteran scholarships.
