RED OAK, Texas
Gratitude Initiative (GI), a non-profit that provides essential education programs and college scholarships to the children of our active duty military, veterans, disabled vets, and those killed in defense of our country, received a $50,000 donation from Sport Clips Haircuts to continue its work with children enrolled in its college and career preparatory program from our military’s special operations families.
With 96 percent of seniors accepted into one or both of their two college choices, Gratitude Initiative offers the most comprehensive full-service college preparatory program available today and covers all aspects of the high school-to-college transition process. The GI College Success Academy is provided at no charge to the students and families they serve, and is delivered online to support military and veteran children anywhere in the world, and it is staffed by a team of degreed counselors who work with the student and families via email, phone, or chat.
GI’s proven program helps families save time, reduce stress, and save money in achieving their student’s higher education and career goals. It is the only program of its type that is serving military and veteran families. “Gordon Logan and Sport Clips have been investing in GI’s mission since our founding in 2013,” said Lee Sechrist, GI co-founder and Army veteran. “Their generous support over the years has ensured hundreds of our military and veteran teens have achieved their college and career dreams.”
Sport Clips is a long-time supporter of military organizations and their families. Company founder and chairman, Gordon Logan, served as an aircraft commander in the U.S. Air Force and is a strong believer in the importance of education. As CEO and president, his son, Edward Logan, continues the mission to support veterans and their families and the donation to Gratitude Initiative is a way for Logan and Sport Clips to continue to provide “Haircuts with Heart” by supporting our nation’s military families.
